U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that the U.K. could be added to the list of countries whose citizens are banned from flying to the United States because of coronavirus.
Trump on Wednesday announced a 30-day ban on foreign visitors from most of Europe in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The U.K. and Ireland were not on that list.
Asked Friday by a reporter why the U.K. was not on the list when the number of cases there is increasing, Trump said the move was “recommended to me by a group of professionals and we are looking at it based on the new numbers that are coming out and we may have to include them in the list of countries that we will, you could say ban or whatever it is during this period of time.”
