NEW DELHI: As many as 1,074 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, the highest number of recoveries recorded in one day, the health ministry said on Monday. The health ministry said the recovery rate stands at 27.52 per cent with 11,706 Covid-19 patients cured till now.
The death toll due to Covid-19 rose to 1,568 and the total number of cases climbed to 46,433 in the country on Monday. The number of active cases in India stands at 32,134 while 12,727 people were cured/discharged/migrated.

Section 144 imposed in Mumbai till May 17
In a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19, Mumbai Police have announced that Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been imposed in the city till May 17.
Section 144 of CrPC prohibits the assembly of four or more people in an area.
"The Movement of one or more persons for all non-essential services, except for medical reasons, will be prohibited between 8 pm and 7 am," the police said.
Two special flights to begin evacuating Indians from UAE on Thursday
Two special flights are set to operate on Thursday to evacuate Indians stranded in the United Arab Emirates due Covid-19 pandemic, the Indian Consulate in Dubai has announced.
The passenger list for the two flights — Abu Dhabi to Kochi and Dubai to Kozhikode — will be finalized by the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi, and the Consulate General of India, Dubai, a statement said.
China reports 1 new virus case, no deaths
China reported one new case of coronavirus Tuesday and no deaths, marking three weeks since it recorded a Covid-19 fatality.
The National Health Commission said 395 people remained under treatment in the hospital, while 949 were under isolation and observation for suspected cases or after testing positive despite showing no symptoms.
771 new cases take Maha Covid-19 tally to 14,541; 35 more die
Maharashtra's Covid-19 tally on Monday jumped by 771 to 14,541, while 35 more patients died – 18 of them in Mumbai – taking the toll to 583, said a state health department official.
Confusion prevailed after health officials announced Covid-19 tally for the state to be at 14,541 with the addition of 771 new cases on Monday. However, figures did not add up as on Sunday the state tally stood at 12,974 cases.
A senior health official on late Monday night issued a clarification, stating, Maharashtra on Monday reported 771 new cases of COVID-19. However, another 796 cases, which were tested earlier but they got verified (later), were added in todays tally, making it 14,541.
