The 22-year-old was competing at a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Baton Rouge Regional event (Louisiana) on Friday, when her floor routine ended in a terrifying fall.

Cerio who represents Auburn University was making her first tumbling pass when she failed to nail a blind landing resulting in a double leg fracture and double knee dislocation. The injury ended Cerios sporting career, with the gymnast announcing her retirement right after the accident.
