Tyson Furys father admits it is a bitter blow not to be able to attend his sons world title showdown with Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles.
John Fury will not be ringside for the WBC championship fight, as he was not granted a visa to enter the US due to a previous conviction.
Media reports claimed John had failed in attempts to get his visa ratified, but he insisted those claims were wide of the mark.

Bitter blow, Fury told IFL TV. I didnt try [to get the visa]. Thats a proper gander. I never applied because I knew what the answer would be.
I know with my conviction that I wasnt never ever going to be able to enter the country. I never asked anybody to do anything for me.

Ive took it like a man, on the chin, accept the current situation and just getting on with it.
He added: I accepted long before this come about. Theres nothing you can do about it. Why worry about something Ive got no control over. Its up to the authorities.
Fury is bidding to become a world champion again after just two fights since making his comeback in June.
After losing over a 150lbs in just over a year, Fury claimed two pedestrian wins over Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta during the summer.

Many believe the Wilder fight has come too soon for the Brit, and although his father may agree, John thinks his son still has enough to beat the WBC champion.
It wouldnt have been the way Id have done it, he said.
I would have liked a bit more time, a bit more ring work because you can only get match fit by fighting. They call it fighting fit because the only way you can get fit is fighting.

Because hes up against a formidable champion who punches hard. Hes got to be switched on for every second of the fight.
I think if hed had a few more fights it would have been 80-20 in Tysons favour. But now its a 50-50. I do believe Tysons intelligence, wit, strength and desire will be enough to get that WBC belt.
He added: I just hope his body will do what his minds tells it to.
