Jose Mourinho is ready to strengthen three key positions in January as he looks to add extra depth to his Manchester United squad, reports claim.
The Portuguese has been handed an £80million war chest to improve his side at the halfway stage of the season, with United still fighting on four fronts.
With the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League – where they progressed as Group A winners on Tuesday night – all in play and chasing an eight-point deficit behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, Mourinho is keen to add a left-back, a winger and a central midfielder to his squad.

A left-footed wide man is high on his list of priorities, according to Yahoo.
Having rotated Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford – who both prefer to play through the middle – in the left-wing role, Mourinho believes a left-footed specialist winger would increase his options from a tactical perspective.
While Ashley Young has performed admirably on the left side of defence, Mourinho is still on the hunt for a long-term left-back, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose a primary target.
Injuries to Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matc have seen Mourinho’s midfield options stretched and he’s keen to have another body in there – particularly given Fellaini, Carrick and Herrera are all in the final years of their current contracts.
