CM Punk picked up £378,000 ($503,500) for fighting at UFC 225, at which he lost against Mike Jackson in what has been branded the worst fight in octagon history.
Jackson toyed with CM Punk over three rounds, and would even look away when he aimed a punch at the former WWE star.
UFC president Dana White hit out at Jackson for showboating during the encounter, while experts and fans again called for CM Punk to walk away from MMA.
CM Punk was making his second appearance in professional MMA, and after an embarrassing quick defeat to Mickey Gall in 2016, it was an even worse second experience in the cage.
Jackson beat CM Punk up for the entire fight and the judges returned a 30-26 decision for the more experienced fighter.
But, it was a lucrative night for CM Punk as he collected almost £400,000, while Jackson earned just £18,000 for the encounter.

CM Punk was the third highest earner of the night, with only heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem and middleweight champion Robert Whittaker receiving bigger fight purses.
After Whites outburst, Jackson hit back at the idea he just wanted to embarrass CM Punk.
I was like, well, if Im throwing punches when Im not looking and theyre landing, and I look at him and hes defending those, how about I just not look and hit him? Jackson said.
UFC 225 Fight Purses
Alistair Overeem: £646,000
Robert Whittaker: £458,000
CM Punk: £378,000
Colby Covington: £285,000
Rafael dos Anjos: £285,000
I was in there for one reason and one reason only: I was in there to show CM Punk that he wasnt at my level, and when you look at the 30-26s on the scorecard, when you look at his face and my face, its proven that hes not on my level. And thats not a disrespectful thing.
CM Punk was taken to hospital after the loss to Jackson, but the UFC have yet to announce if they intend to cut the 39-year-old.
