Warringah captain Hamish Angus has claimed his third Ken Catchpole Medal in what he will be hoping is a good omen before his sides Shute Shield semi-final against Eastwood on Saturday at North Sydney Oval.
Angus has been an integral figure for Warringah for a number of years and his latest gong is on top of his Catchpole Medals in 2012 and 2014. The five-eighth is the only Warringah player to win the award since Scott Fardy in 2008.

Despite sitting out his sides 24-7 victory over Norths last weekend due to injury, Angus is expected to line up for the first of two semi-finals on Saturday at the same venue.
Warringah take on Eastwood at 1.10pm then Sydney University face Norths at 3.10pm in a grand final rematch of 2016.

Angus (14 votes) edged out his halves partner Josh Holmes (13) for the award. Dion Spice (12), Mack Mason (11), Kotoni Ale (11) and Connor Vest (11) rounded out the top six.
Warringahs Mark Gerrard was named coach of the year, while Eastwoods Michael Icely won the rookie of the year award.
Matt Kellahan was voted referee of the year.
