NSW outcast one day, starting in a State of Origin decider the next.
That's the equation facing David Klemmer as the NSW brains trust weighs up whether to thrust the Newcastle star into the opening exchanges of next Wednesday's series decider at ANZ Stadium.

Before the Nathan Cleary-Mitchell Pearce bombshell engulfed the team's Bondi base on Wednesday afternoon, Klemmer was the talk of the town.
After his stunning omission from the initial squad for the series decider, Klemmer arrived at the team hotel on Wednesday morning. He was greeted with a handshake by the man he is replacing, Tariq Sims, before the rest of the NSW squad filtered into the lobby and said hello.

Talk then naturally turned to whether Klemmer would be thrust into the starting side in place of Newcastle teammate Daniel Saifiti or Dragons star Paul Vaughan.
The Blues coaching staff were expected to set the ball rolling on that discussion on Wednesday afternoon.
Moving Klemmer into the starting pack would seem logical, considering he was the team's most damaging option in the pack in Origin I, but the 25-year-old doesn't seem to mind whether he starts. He's just happy to be part of the decider, rather than nervously watching on from home.
"Im happy to play anywhere," Klemmer said. "Im a team player and wherever Freddy wants to put me, Im ready to go."
