Thompson announced his decision to stay with the Warriors for $US190 million ($272 million) over the next five years.
Thompson revealed the news on his Instagram account, using a clip of Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street with the line Im not leavin!
He also wrote: Mood (there was never a doubt) #warrior4life.

Thompsons decision means the five-time reigning western conference champions have their "Splash Brothers" backcourt of Thompson and Stephen Curry locked up long-term. However, theres plenty of doubt about Leonards next stop.

The opening day of free agency came and went without a peep from the NBA finals MVP, who is expected to soon meet the Toronto Raptors – the team he led to this past seasons NBA title.
The Los Angeles Lakers also appear to remain in the race to land him to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis while the Los Angeles Clippers are still hopeful.
Despite suddenly facing financial constraints with their roster, the Warriors still found a way to retain Kevon Looney. Looney agreed to a three-year, $US15 million deal, league sources confirmed.
Looney also met the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks, according to a league source. It is not clear what offers those teams gave Looney, if any, but the Warriors could have faced issues with re-signing him if hed received a deal from a competitor.
The Warriors entered free agency with an ability to spend over the salary cap on Looney since they own his so-called Bird Rights.
