Went hard at the pacemen as he did the Afghanistan spinner but this time the plan didn't work, for he was caught behind. Rotated his bowlers well and plans were good.
Usman Khawaja 2 (13 of 19 balls)
Did not enjoy the bumper barrage, for the West Indies clearly targetted him and roughed him up. Lost his nerve and slashed at a wide delivery.

Steve Smith 8 (73 off 103 balls)
Deserved a century. Took a painful knock on his right hand but handled the pace well. Was patient and only dismissed thanks to a classic catch on the boundary at backward square leg.
Glenn Maxwell 1 (0 off 2 balls)
Mistimed a pull shot and skied a top edge on the second ball he faced. Would want that moment back. Pulled off a fantastic catch running with his back to the ball to dismiss Andre Russell.
Marcus Stoinis 6 (19 off 23 balls and 0-18)
Was assured and shared in a 41-run stand with Smith that gave Australia hope – until he pulled a delivery that wasn't quite in the slot and was caught at short mid wicket. Conceded only four runs at the death with the ball but contest was all but over.
Alex Carey 7 (45 off 55 balls)
This was the type of knock expected of a leader. Took 15 balls to get off the mark, and had only three off 25, but then found his mojo in a crucial 68-run stand with Smith. Glovework behind the stumps was clean.
Nathan Coulter-Nile 9 (92 off 60 balls and 0-70)
This was a breathtaking knock, featuring eight boundaries and four sixes. Power hitting – and placement – at its finest. But he remains wicketless after two matches.
