Stubbs thinks the money spent at Everton has harmed the club's identity

Ex-Everton defender Alan Stubbs believes the Toffees have lost their principles due to the money the club have spent.
The Goodison Park side find themselves in the relegation zone after a dreadful start to the season, despite heavy investment into new players over the summer.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 46-year-old believes the club have lost sight of what they are.
He said: “I think this money has clouded the judgement of what we stand for as a football club.
“We’ve got principles and morals as a club, as David Moyes would say – we’re a people’s club, we’re a hard working club, we know what we are.
“I think the money has made us get ahead of ourselves and suddenly think we’re going to challenge for the top four, which was never going to be.”
The Blues are yet to appoint a new manager since the sacking of Ronald Koeman and Stubbs urges the club to be realistic.
He added: “As soon as Koeman got the sack, fans were saying we want Ancelotti and I’m thinking, come on, we have to be realistic here.”
