NEW DELHI: The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerath Kshetra Trust on Saturday sent a formal invite to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay the foundation of the temple which the trust plans to undertake on August 5. The construction work has been delayed due to the Coronavirus-triggered lockdown.
Here are ten things you need to know about the construction of Ram Temple:
* Currently, the Ramjanambhoomi site is being levelled by heavy earth-movers.
* The ground-breaking ceremony or the 'Bhumi-poojan' could take place on two dates August 3 or August 5, based on planetary configurations.
* The Trust has decided to invite PM Modi for the ground-breaking ceremony who is said to have given his consent, as per sources in the Trust.
* According to the Trust, it will take three to three-and-a-half years to complete the temple after the map is finalised.
* The Trust will be amending the design, laid down by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). There is a proposal to raise the height of the temple from 128 feet to 161 feet.
* The revised designs also intend to increase the number of conical domes from three to five.
* There is a proposal to extend the temple circumference from 70 acres to 108 acres.
