JAMMU: A suspected improvised explosive device (IED) was found by a road opening party of the Indian Army on Rajouri-Poonch highway in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday and was defused on the spot.
This comes just two days after an Army jawan lost his life in an IED explosion near a forward post at the Line of Control (LoC) in Pallanwalla-Akhnoor sector of Jammu district on Sunday.
The road opening party, according to sources, noticed an explosive-like object near Kallar locality on the highway around 8.30am and traffic was immediately suspended on the highway.
