NEW DELHI: In a development unlikely to go unnoticed in Beijing, India and Vietnam on Monday reiterated their joint call for freedom of navigation in South China Sea.
In a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and his counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Bangkok, the two sides also reiterated their desire to promote peace, security and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.
Both leaders committed to the maintenance of a rules-based order that is based on respect for international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
