Asked about the chaotic flurry of border closures by EU countries in mid-March, the European Commission president on Wednesday acknowledged that the uncoordinated actions by national capitals had been far from ideal.
“Indeed the very beginning was difficult because there was little coordination and little communication between member states,” she said when asked about border closures.
