PATNA: Faraz Fatmi, an MLA of opposition RJD, on Wednesday created ripples in the states political circles after he joined a Dahi-Chura' feast organised by the ruling JD(U)s state president Bashishtha Narain Singh at his residence in the state capital here on occasion of Makar Sankranti.
Faraz drew attention of political observers especially because he attended the feast at the residence of JD(U) leader at the same time when all senior opposition leaders including RJDs Tejashwi Prasad Yadav had gathered at the Sadaqat Ashram, the State Congress office, to participate in a parallel Dahi-Chura feast for the leaders of the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan.
An MBBS doctor by education, Faraz not only enjoyed taste of JD(U)s Dahi, Chura and tilkut, along with several other MLAs and senior leaders of Nitish Kumars party and its ally BJP, but also declared that “There is no bigger face than Nitish Kumar in political arena of Bihar and he will only form government in the state after 2020 assembly polls.”
Moreover, Faraz while speaking to media persons at the JD(U)s feast venue, not only lauded CM Nitish Kumar for clearing the confusion over the issue of implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Bihar, but also questioned his own party leader Tejashwi Yadav for going to Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region to take out a Pratirodh Yatra (Resistence March) from Kishanganj on January 16.
“When Nitish ji has already cleared his stand on the NRC by saying that “NRC would not be implemented in Bihar” then what is the necessity of Tejashwi Yadav going to Seemanchal region to begin a yatra on this sensitive and contentious issue,” Faraz said questioning the decision of his own party leader, which gave an ample hint that the RJD MLA has made up his mind to desert the party.
Contacted over phone, Faraz told TOI that what is wrong if he said that Nitish Kumar is bigger face than others in Bihar politics.
“RJDs another senior leader Raghubansh Prasad Singh too has said that Nitish Kumar will be face in the 2020 assembly polls. I am telling it once again in one liner: As of now in Bihars politics, Nitish Kumar is the biggest face than any other leader and he will form the next government,” Faraz, son of former union minister and four-time MP from Darbhanga MAA Fatmi, told TOI.
Farazs statement attacking Tejashwi and lauding Nitish is being seen as his first step towards deserting the RJD and joiniRead More – Source
