RAIPUR: Farm loan waiver was a one-off thing and won't be repeated next year, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Tuesday, triggering protests by the opposition BJP.
The loan waver promise for farmers was valid only for once, he said. "Congress, in its manifesto, had promised to waive farm loans soon after coming to power. The government has already fulfilled it," he said. "Loans of farmers have been waived, as promised by Congress. We had promised loan waiver once, it can't be waived again and again," he added.
