Henrikh Mkhitaryan was so desperate to leave Arsenal this summer he didnt even discuss a potential salary with Roma before agreeing to join the Italian side on loan.
The midfielder joined Roma on transfer deadline day and although he has not ruled out a return to the Emirates, Mkhitaryan admitted he was too unhappy to stay at Arsenal.
Unai Emery sanctioned Mkhitaryans exit and the Armenian explained what forced him to leave Arsenal.
I have to enjoy playing football, no matter the place, Mkhitaryan said. In England, I no longer felt happy.
I got a call from my agent and I wanted to come, because it was a great opportunity for me.
I didnt even have a discussion with my agent about money.
Maybe I was not fitting so well in English football, so I think a change was good.
