Christian Eriksen has been urged to stay at Tottenham and commit his long-term future to the club amid speculation he could join Manchester United in January.
Danish midfielder Eriksen has developed into one of Spurs key players since completing a £11.5million deal from Ajax in 2013.
The 27-year-old is closing in on 300 first-team appearances and helped Tottenham reach the Champions League final last season.
Eriksen was heavily linked with a summer move as he runs down his contract with no apparent desire to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Premier League rivals Manchester United and Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid have both expressed interest in signing Eriksen but Tim Sherwood believes he should stay put.

The former Tottenham manager told Sky Sports: Hes running his contract down for a reason, and it wouldnt be a money-motivated reason.
Christian Eriksen wants to leave the football club because he wants to go to a club where he thinks he can win trophies.
But I believe thats a difficult task, to find a club better than Tottenham to win trophies right now.
Manchester United spent almost £150million on new signings this summer but did not bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaers options in central midfield.
Reports claim the Red Devils will test Tottenhams resolve in January with a bid for Eriksen, who last week spoke about the speculation over his future.
