Matteo Darmian has joined Italian side Parma on a permanent deal from Manchester United, the Red Devils have confirmed.
The full-back exits United just shy of 100 appearances for the club, but yet to play a game this season.
Darmian has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford in the last year and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had not named the 29-year-old in any of his matchday squads this campaign.
The Italian returns home to play with Parma, signing a four-year contract with the Serie A side.
Darmian was signed by Louis van Gaal in 2015 and United released a short statement, wishing the defender good luck at his new club.
United could still offload a few more fringe players before the close of the transfer window, although Chris Smallings exit last month is set to force Marcos Rojo to remain at the club.

Smalling joined Roma on loan and he and Darmian joins a host of Red Devils to leave the club this summer.
Ander Herrera, Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Valencia and Alexis Sanchez have all made moves away, with United signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire.
