Cape Town – Bayern Munich have been handed another transfer blow after summer target Hakim Ziyech signed a new deal at Ajax.
The Eredivisie champions confirmed on Friday that the winger had penned a new deal in the Netherlands until the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
His previous deal had been set to expire in 2021 but Ziyech has rejected interest from Bayern to stay put.
He enjoyed his best season to date last time out, scoring 16 goals and grabbing 13 assists in the Dutch top flight.
Bayern had turned their attention to the Ajax ace after seeing Leroy Sane pick up an injury last weekend in the Community Shield.
The Manchester City man has now been ruled out for up to seven months and Pep Guardiola confirmed the extent of his ACL injury when speaking to the media on Friday.
