David De Gea is set to finally end the speculation over his future at Manchester United by signing a deal worth £375,000-a-week.
The Spaniard has been locked in contract negotiations with the club for over a year and he has 12 months to run on his existing deal, which was signed in 2015 after a failed move to Real Madrid.
De Gea was seeking assurances over the clubs future and did not want to commit to a new deal while Jose Mourinho remained at the club, nor while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was only in interim charge.
The 28-year-old is believed to have been seeking parity with Uniteds top earner, Alexis Sanchez, but according to widespread reports hes now set to sign a deal to become the clubs second top earner.
The deal, worth £91m over five years, makes De Gea the best paid goalkeeper in the world.

De Gea will put pen to paper on the deal once United return from their pre-season tour and it will be a significant boost to Solskjaer, who has made no secret of his desire to keep the Spaniard.
It follows Marcus Rashfords decision to stay put at Old Trafford and United are not ruling out the possibility of Paul Pogba signing a new deal, despite going public with his desire to leave.
