Anthony Hudson and Terry Wallace have begun their stint on SEN's afternoon program after a decision was made this morning to remove long-serving SEN broadcaster Kevin Bartlett from air immediately following comments he made about why he had decided to leave the station at the end of the footy season.
After it was announced that his final show would be on SEN on grand final eve the former Richmond champion said he had enjoyed the old SEN but hadn't enjoyed the new SEN.
It's been widely known that Bartlett became dissatisfied with the station's direction after a revamp that followed a change of ownership that saw respected broadcaster Gerard Whateley replace Bartlett on his long-running morning show from 9am with Bartlett moving to the 3pm timeslot in a show alongside Dr Turf.
The moves were driven by SEN chief executive Craig Hutchison who is a majority shareholder in Crocmedia which took over the station at the start of last year.
Bartlett has been at the station since it launched 15 years ago and had hoped to continue for the rest of the footy season in the afternoon.
Hudson opened the show paying tribute to Bartlett's contribution saying he had been a major reason why the station had managed to connect so quickly with Melbourne's sporting fans after it began saying it had been an "incredible journey".
