Manchester: Veteran South African batsman Hashim Amla is is doubt for tonight's World Cup clash against Australia after hurting his knee at training.
Amla, 36, was playing soccer with his teammates before official training began at Old Trafford on Friday when he fell to the ground and clutched his left knee.
He remained on the ground for some time before returning to his feet and watching his teammates complete the warm-up drills. However, he then gingerly left the ground.
A Cricket South Africa spokeswoman said Amla had iced his knee and it was being monitored.

While he has had a disappointing tournament (203 runs at 40.6), the absence of the champion batsman with a nation-high of 27 one-day international centuries would be a major blow for the Proteas in the final pool match of the tournament, with the semi-finals beginning on Tuesday.
They have experienced their worst World Cup but hope to finish on a winning note. They had only five points from eight matches heading into a clash against their chief rival.
There will be an extensive review of their World Cup performance once the tournament is over.
Leg-spinner Imran Tahir and batsman JP Duminy have already confirmed their retirements from one-day international cricket, while skipper Faf du Plessis is weighing up his future and Amla could follow.
Du Plessis said it was disappointing Saturday's match did not not have greater context, considering the rich – and fiery – history between the nations.
"When we looked at it [before the tournament began], it was like, 'Sure, Australia in the last game will be a great opportunity for possibly one or two of the teams to play the last game almost like a quarter-final' but it isn't the case now,&quoRead More – Source
