Mark Blicavs' game changing performance in the ruck against Adelaide has given Geelong's match committee food for thought as they attempt to settle on their best midfield combination heading towards September.
Blicavs moved into the ruck midway through the second quarter after the Cats had been obliterated around the clearances and was crucial in the orchestrating a turnaround in the game which Geelong eventually won by 27 points.
The reigning best and fairest winner has been outstanding at full back for the past 18 months but the Cats pushed Jack Henry back and threw Rhys Stanley forward to find the right balance.
"What we were doing wasn't really working," Scott said.
"The game was really going against us and he was able to turn that as much as anyone."

With Stanley struggling in the past two weeks and Zac Smith performing well in his only appearance at senior level Geelong have some options to consider with Esava Ratugolea to return from injury soon and Ryan Abbott and Darcy Fort playing well in the VFL.
"We're going to have some long discussions around what the best way forward is for us given he played so well in there," Scott admitted.
The Cats were relieved that star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield was able to finish off the game after being crunched in a marking contest late in the second quarter.
He suffered a knock to the hip pointer that left him hampered however the Cats sent him forward and he competed hard throughout the second half.
