And the Daily Star claim Solskjaer has told Young his experience is crucial to the team.
Young has played mostly at right-back under Solskjaer, but United were targeting a replacement for the 33-year-old this summer.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was Uniteds top choice, but have been put off by Crystal Palace demanding £50million for the 21-year-old.
While Uniteds search for a new right-back continues, Young will remain at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future after talks with Solskjaer.
