Cape Town – Bafana Bafana have secured their place in the plate final of the COSAFA Cup by beating Uganda 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw during normal time on Tuesday.
After a goalless first half, Uganda took the lead early in the second stanza thanks to a goal from Serunkuma.
Luther Singh, who scored in South Africa's shock loss to Botswana on Saturday levelled matters in the 72nd minute.
With the teams deadlocked at 1-1 after full-time it was South Africa that advanced on penalties after goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto pulled off two saves.
