Darren Gough believes Australia can cause an upset at the 2019 World Cup and defend their title.
The Baggy Greens won the last World Cup four years ago and Gough expects the team to challenge for the trophy again this summer.
Australia are the most successful team in World Cup history, winning the event five times and reaching another two finals.
Im going to go with Australia, Gough said on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Preview show. I hate saying it – I really do – but I am going with Australia.

Despite their tags as reigning champions, Australia were not expected to challenge for the 2019 World Cup following their struggles after the ball-tampering scandal.
The team were thrashed by Englands dominant one-day side last summer but have recovered this year to draw to India and beat Pakistan away.

England hero Gough added: Australia have not been in a good place over the past year. But they find a way come the big tournaments to deliver.
I believe theyre now in a good place. Theyve made a lot of changes and I think theyve got all bases covered, especially with [David] Warner and [Steve] Smith coming back in.

Smith and Warners international future was in major doubt following the ball-tampering scandal but both have returned to the Australian team after serving 12-month bans.
The recent Indian Premier League provided the Australians with an ideal platform to display their ability and motivation and both delivered with strong campaigns.
I really, really like the look of them [Australia], Gough said. [Aaron] Finch and Warner can take a game away from you. Smith in the middle order is perfect.
From the batting side, theyve got every base covered. I think they could be very, very strong in this tournament.
