Parramatta co-captain Clint Gutherson says he'll leave contract negotiations to his manager while he focuses on footy, having rejected the NRL club's latest offer. After the club's first training session at Bankwest Stadium on Wednesday night, Gutherson told reporters he hadn't spoken to Ayoub since he rejected the Eels' offer. "I'm just fully focused on (playing Wests Tigers) Monday and I think he will probably give me the privacy to get ready for that and let the rest sort itself out," he said. "I'm a pretty casual bloke, it doesn't really bother me. "You'd rather get it sorted but at the moment that's between the club and my management and I've just got to play footy." A number of other Eels players are off-contract at the end of the year and coach Brad Arthur's deal is also due to finish. Co-captain Tim Mannah, himself looking for a new deal, said he was hopeful Gutherson would stay at the club. "Obviously he's a mate of ours and we love him but I know how things work and we'll let Gutho go through the process and I'm sure him and his manager will sort something out," he said. The duo is hoping to harness a home-crowd advantage on Monday when they take on the Tigers at the grand opening of the stadium.
