The 43-year-old started the day two shots behind Francesco Molinari but capitalised on the Italian making two rare slip-ups to shoot three birdies over four holes on the back nine to take the lead.
He held his nerve at the 18th, only needing a bogey to win, and after coming back from spinal fusion surgery just two years ago he regards this win as one of his best ever.
