James Wade won his first PDC title of the year on Saturday, walloping Michael Smith 8-2 in the final of Players Championship 9 in Barnsley.
The Machine takes his tally to 19 ProTour titles with the victory, which is his first Players Championship triumph since 2015.
The world number nine averaged over a ton three times in his seven wins, which included victories over the likes of Mark Webster, Scott Baker and a thriller against Adrian Lewis.
Lewis had five darts to beat Wade in the quarter-finals, but couldnt get over the line and the Machine pinched a 6-5 victory.
Wade was also taken to a deciding leg in the semis, eventually beating Baker 7-6, before demolishing Smith in the final.
This win means a lot to me, said Wade. Perhaps it wouldve meant even more a year ago but it still means a lot because I havent been winning things.

Im so, so happy to win this, people dont know how happy I am and now Im excited and looking forward to the future.
Ive been playing well for a long time now but havent quite been getting the rub of the green, but today Ive had a bit of a touch by scraping past Adrian.
I still think Im underachieving for my ability but its about turning up every morning and being hungry, which I am.
