They have similar names, are owned in the same interests and leading jockey Ben Looker hopes its a similar winning outcome aboard two key runners on todays feature card at Grafton.

Lightly raced eight-year-old local gelding Dantga, often a betting-ring favourite, is out to make it two straight in race four, an open handicap over 1206m just over a fortnight since he landed a plunge at this track in the feature March Hare BM78.

Under Adam Hyeronimus, Dantga controlled the battle up front before spearing away for his seventh win from only 30 starts. But today the son of Danasinga goes up sharply to 60kg but is drawn to get an on-pace position and, with rain forecast, that ability to handle wet or dry ground will serve him well.

Looker will then be legged aboard five-year-old gelding Longtga, attempting to win only his second race from 12 starts after resuming with a fast-finishing effort at Coffs Harbour four weeks ago.

By the somewhat unfashionable sire Longhorn out of a Mossman mare and part-owned by the same couple as Dantga, Longtga is a more off-speed finisher and should get enough pace in race six, a BM58 over 1106m to charge into the finish. His best form is clearly saved for his home track.
