Conor McGregor has announced his retirement from Mixed Martial Arts in a shock tweet on Tuesday morning.
The two-division UFC champion has been in discussions for his next fight with the company, but he appears to have left the octagon behind him as he rides off into the sunset.

He made millions from his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, while a string of endorsements and his own whiskey company are raking in huge amounts of cash as well.
Such is McGregors portfoilo nowadays, that he tweeted earlier this month that fighting had become his, 3rd level of income.
The Sunday Times compiled the Irish Rich List as recently as 24 March and they value McGregors net worth at a whopping £101m.

This is an increase of around £25m on the previous year thanks to the earnings from his only UFC fight of 2018, the submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October.
McGregor received $3m (£2.2m) flat for the fight, but also a share of the enormous 2.4m pay-per-view buys, taking his total earnings to around £25m.
It may be that the £101m is a conservative estimate as The Times state that they have added nothing to McGregors total for the launch of his Proper Twelve whiskey.
The Times states that the tipple is selling strongly but any addition to McGregors net worth will come next year.
The Irishman clearly has high hopes for the spirit, and UFC president Dana White agrees that is where the real money lies.
White told TMZ last October: The whiskey thing is probably going to make this kid a billion dollars.
