BERLIN — Hackers exposed the personal details of more than 100 German politicians, according to local media.
Internal documents and intimate information belonging to politicians from all parties in the German parliament, except for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), were gradually released online over the past few weeks, public broadcaster RBB reported Friday morning. The hack was not discovered until Thursday evening, the broadcaster added.
The leaked documents include a list of party members, personal chats between family members, credit card information and scans of national ID cards, according to RBB. Some of the exposed information is years old.
The leaders of the parties affected by the leak are currently assessing the damage, RBB said.
