Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Gary Cahills situation at Chelsea and could move for the defender this winter if their injury crisis worsens.
Rob Holding suffered a serious knee injury during Arsenals 2-2 draw with Manchester United which ruled the Englishman out for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.
The Gunners are also without Shkodran Mustafi who sustained a hamstring injury against Liverpool and young centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos remains on the sidelines with a groin strain.
According to the Telegraph, Arsenal will make a January bid for Cahill if they lose any more defenders through injury. The 33-year-old becomes a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.

Cahill, who has only made one substitute appearance under Maurizio Sarri in the Premier League this season, is also being monitored by Fulham and West Ham.
The England international has reportedly hired a personal trainer to ensure hes in shape ahead of the January window.
Sarri admitted earlier this month that Cahill was unlikely to become a regular again at Chelsea.
Asked about Cahill being linked to Arsenal, Sarri replied: I respect him very much because he has won everything with this club, [but] then I have to do my job.
Every match I have to choose. For me it he is not able to be on the bench.

Maybe he is the best in the box, but our defenders may play 100 or 110 balls in a match so I need defenders very technically. It is not my decision, but it is up to him and the club.
He is in the last year of the contract, he has to decide for a new contract here or another club.
For the over 30 [players] the club usually offers only one year of contract. If he has an offer of three years, he can of course choose something [else at a different club]. It doesnt depend if I am sentimental or not.
