Cesc Fabregas is desperate to make his 500th appearance in English football before he leaves Chelsea in January.
The 31-year-old, who has only made one Premier League start this season, has racked up a total of 499 appearances during his time with Arsenal and Chelsea but is expected to move abroad in the coming weeks.
AC Milan and Monaco are battling it out to land Fabregas and negotiations have already taken place over a winter move for the legendary Spain international.
Fabregas missed Chelseas Boxing Day victory over Crystal Palace with a neck problem but, according to the Telegraph, the midfielder is determined to make his 500th English club appearance versus Southampton on Wednesday evening.

The former Barcelona star is out of contract next summer and Chelsea are only prepared to offer a 12-month extension on his current deal.
Denis Suarez, who has struggled for game-time under Ernesto Valverde at Barca, is being eyed as a potential replacement for Fabregas.

Maurizio Sarri has already underlined the importance of replacing Fabregas should the Spaniard leave in the January transfer window.
I want him to stay, I dont know the final decision of Cesc and the club of course, Sarri said.
