Movie Role gave English jockey Tom Marquand a first Sydney winner and a first for breeding giant Coolmore as she raced into next month's Magic Millions Classic with a rails-hugging win at Randwick on Saturday.
The sister of Thousand Guineas winner Irish Lights got lost down the Flemington straight on debut behind Yes Yes Yes, but on the turn she found the form the Lindsay Park team had seen at home.
“She was a really tough filly there, took the inside rail, went away nicely and put the rest to bed,” Marquand said. “She relaxed really nicely in the blinkers, the turning track helped her and she was very genuine.

“Ive ridden in these colours before, never won in them, so that is good one to get.

“I think every jockeys aspiration is to ride winners for Sheikh Hamdan, for Coolmore, Godolphin and Sheikh Mohammed. The last time I was [in Australia] I won in Sheikh Hamdan colours [on Tasbeeh] for David [Hayes]. ”
Movie Role camped behind the speed and, when the gap came on the fence, accelerated away to win by 1.5 lengths from Igniting, with Hightail a long head away in third.
David Hayes said putting blinkers on Movie World for the first time helped the filly, which has shortened to a $15 chance for the Magic Millions Classic.
“I had trialled her in blinkers and went for the winkers on debut and it didnt work,” Hayes said.
“She has always been a pretty good filly and she just got lost down the Flemington straight.
“That was much better with the blinkers and she was on the right leg and really good. It is a good sign for the Gold Coast."
The win also further franked the form of Darren Weir-trained Yes Yes Yes, which saluted again at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
"He's still a little bit green, so there's improvement to come," jockey John Allen said.
"He got a beautiful run and travelled up to them well but had a bit of a look at them.
"He's got a great attitude and going to the Gold Coast, racing right-handed, is going to be a new task for him.
"But he definitely has the ability, so we'll be going there and hoping for a bit of luck."
Yes Yes Yes was reeled in from $8 to $6 for the Magic Millions.

Marquand, a former champion apprentice of England, is on a second stint in Australia after spending the summer in Melbourne three years ago. He wanted a different experience and has based himself at Randwick.
After winning on Movie Role Marquand was realistic about his chances of keeping the ride for the $2 million feature on the Gold Coast.
“I think there will be plenty that will want that ride,” he said. "David has always been a good supporter and I'll get some chances for him."
Marquand made a winning double when he had to show patience for the run to come on the John OShea-trained Live And Free before shooting through a gap late to win.
“It is good to get one for the boss as well,” Marquand said. “He kept it pretty simple with the instructions to ride with cover and wait for luck and it worked out, although at the 200m I was thinking, 'oh no'.
“It is a nice horse and can stay well.”
Marquand will be in Sydney until February and is getting down to minimum riding weight with the hot weather.
“It is pretty intense out here, at Gosford [on Friday] is probably the hottest day I have ever ridden, it was about 40 degrees,” Marquand said
“My agent has had me working hard doing 54kg, which I wouldnt be doing too much of back home.
My bottom weight is 53.5kg, which I have touched just a handful of times this year but I can do that here.
“Hopefully in the next few weeks it can be a bit fruitful, I can learn a bit and earn a bit as well.”
