Perth: The Perth Scorchers are on the board this Big Bash League season, cruising to a seven-wicket win over the Adelaide Strikers with two overs remaining at Perth Stadium.

The Scorchers had lost their opening two games but enjoyed strutting their stuff in front of 40,646 home fans with their quick bowlers taking full advantage of the wicket's pace and bounce, rolling the Strikers for just 88.

It was the first home game of the season for the Scorchers who have lost their opening two matches on the road.

Scorchers captain Ashton Turner won the toss and decided to bowl, with the decision paying dividends.

Much like the Test match pitch earlier this month, the deck had a strong green tinge and offered plenty of pace and bounce for Jason Behrendorff (2-16), Nathan Coulter-Nile (1-33), David Willey (1-21), Jhye Richardson (3-7) and Andrew Tye (2-9).

After the Strikers made a solid, albeit slightly slow start, with Alex Carey and Jake Weatherald combining for an opening partnership of 25, the Scorchers took over.

Once Weatherald was out for 22, it sparked a stunning collapse with Adelaide losing 6-15 to be in desperate trouble at 6-40 in the 11th over after Coulter-Nile had Jon Wells caught behind for two.

It was then 7-46 when Michael Neser was trapped leg before for one by Richardson with Carey comically run out after he uncharacteristically struggled to 11 in 26 balls.

Cameron Valente (21 from 18) and Rashid Khan (21 from 12) offered some late hitting for the Strikers to avoid their lowest-ever score but were still bowled out in the 18th over.

The Scorchers did lose Michael Klinger to an early run out for two early in the chase, but Josh Inglis, a late replacement for an unwell Sam Whiteman, made an impressive 22 in 21 balls to get things rolling.

The Scorchers only scored nine runs from four Rashid Khan overs, but didn't lose a wicket to his brilliant wrist spin.

Billy Stanlake (1-18) was a handful and got rid of Inglis with a beauty, but Turner (24) and Will Bosisto (36 not out) saw the Scorchers comfortably home for their first win of the season.
