Pep Guardiola has suggested that Gabriel Jesus will retain his place in Manchester Citys attack for Tuesdays clash with Watford amid concerns over Sergio Agueros fitness.
The Argentine, who co-leads the Premier Leagues scoring charts with eight goals, was left out of the matchday squad entirely for Saturdays 3-1 victory over Bournemouth with Jesus picked to start instead.
Guardiola confirmed that Aguero had a muscular disturbance and did not want to risk him, and he may also be forced to sit out the midweek clash at Vicarage Road.
We will see the day after tomorrow [Monday]. We do not want to take any risks, said Guardiola on Agueros fitness.
If Sergio becomes injured we will lose him for a long number of days and we cant afford to do that.
