Liz Watson claimed two of Australian Netballs highest honours on Saturday night.
The 24-year-old Melbourne Vixens star won the Liz Ellis Diamond for her stellar play at both international and Super Netball level while she was also named international player of the year.
Watson won her second consecutive Sharelle McMahon Medal as the Vixens' best and fairest player this year but her two awards show she has now ascended to the top of the international game ahead of the Netball World Cup in England next year.
Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander praised Watson for her form throughout the Commonwealth Games and Test matches.

"Over the past 18 months Liz's game has reached another level with consistent performances for the Melbourne Vixens and strong performances with the Diamonds in Tests and the Commonwealth Games – Liz has shown her leadership and determination both on and off the court,” Alexander said.
"Liz's efforts at international level were recognised by her teammates earlier this year when she was elevated to the Diamonds leadership group, and she is an athlete who is highly coachable, humble and with an unparalleled work ethic.”

The Super Netball player of the year award went to West Coast Fever shooter Jhaneile Fowler after the Jamaican import set a new competition record with 783 goals at 92.5 per cent shooting while Fever coach Stacey Marinkovich was named Joyce Brown coach of the year.
Retiring greats Erin Bell, Laura Geitz, Sharni Layton, Madi Robinson and Susan Pettitt were acknowledged for their long careers.

Noeleen Dix, Sharon Kelly and Jan Sutherland received Netball Australia service awards while Courtney Bruce, Kate Moloney, Emily Mannix, Kelsey Browne and Jamie-Lee Price received their Diamond pendant after making their Australian debuts this year.
