ACT rising star Annerly Poulos and the Canberra International have been nominated for awards at the Tennis Australia Newcombe Medal night later this month.
Poulos has been nominated for the junior female athlete of the year after her breakout season which culminated in representing Australia at the WTA Future Stars in Singapore last month.
The 15-year-old won three consecutive ITF junior singles titles, two ITF junior doubles titles, played Junior Fed Cup and made her junior grand slam debut at the Australian Open.
Poulos finished the season the top-ranked under-16 player in the country and will be vying for a grand slam debut at the Australian Open in January.
The Canberra International has been nominated for the most outstanding professional tournament of the year alongside Toowoomba and Traralgon.
Dylan Alcott, Ashleigh Barty, Alex de Minaur and John Millman have been nominated for Newcombe Medal to be announced at the annual awards in Melbourne on November 26.
