Australian batsman Shaun Marsh has missed Australia's opening one-day international clash against South Africa in Perth on Sunday because of an abscess on his buttock.
Cricket Australia said Marsh would require "minor surgery" but no further details were provided.

Darcy Short is set to replace Marsh in the XI for Sundays game.
Australia have lost 16 of their past 18 ODI matches and are desperate to turn that losing record around.

The three-match series shifts to Adelaide on Friday and then to Hobart.
