
Raheem Sterling has verbally agreed to sign a new five-year contract and will commit the peak years of his career to Manchester City, according to reports.
The 23-year-olds current deal is due to expire next summer and the 23-year-old had been seeking a signifcant rise on his £100,000-a-week salary after playing a prominent role in last seasons record breaking Premier League title winning success.
Sterlings failure to agree terms had reportedly alerted the likes of Real Madrid, but the England international is now said to have agreed new terms which will see his salary tripled to around £300,000-a-week if various bonuses and performance related targets are met.

The former Liverpool winger scored 23 goals in all competitions last season and played a key role in Englands run to the semi finals of the World Cup.
Sterling has thrived under the management of Pep Guardiola who was keen for the versatile forward to put pen to paper.
