After a dominant start to the fixture, captain David Silva volleyed City into the lead on 30 minutes. Shortly after Aymeric Laporte found space in the box to head home from a corner.
Substitute Bernardo Silva settled the affair in the second half with a neat finish following a quick City counter-attack.

Reacting to the emphatic and impressive victory, Guardiola said: In Europe 0-3 – we were outstanding.
We created a lot of chances. Second half they pushed a lot and it was complicated. But when we regained the ball we could run.
It was an amazing result. Now we recover with this result and in Germany (against Hoffenheim).
If we are able to win the next game Shakhtar will be out. After our defeat in Lyon we were under pressure. Im very pleased with our performance.
The team was good last season, even the previous season, the locker room was always in the right position.
We are together three seasons and we know each other much better. Its normal when you have three years together you are better than the first year.
Skipper Silva added: We couldve scored a lot of goals. We scored three and were happy with three points. Now we look forward to next game.
The champions league is difficult and this is a a tough place to come. We did really well today, we had lots of chances and we scored three so were happy.
I think we area playing better every game. we have to keep improving a little bit more but were in a good way. If we play like this we will get more points.

Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, meanwhile, who City signed from Shakhtar five years ago, said: We came here and to see so many familiar faces and friends; Im so glad to come back here.
