Roger Federer insists he has enjoyed a great season despite falling short at Wimbledon and the US Open.
Federer, who won two of the four Grand Slams in 2017, began the year by securing his eighth Australian Open title in Melbourne.
His quest for a record-equalling ninth Wimbledon title started well as he cruised through to the quarter-finals without dropping a set.
But he suffered a shock defeat to South African Kevin Anderson in the last-eight and saw Novak Djokovic become the new champion in SW19.

Djokovic continued his dominance at Flushing Meadows, winning a third US Open after Federer was dumped out in the fourth round by John Millman.

But despite these recent disappointments, Federer says he is pleased with his year on the tour.
Last year was a fairy-tale from start to finish, basically, he said, referring to his 2017 campaign.
It was just a small disappointment at the end, at the [Nitto] ATP Finals, not maybe giving myself the chance to be in the final, losing to Goffin.
I was a bit disappointed with my play there. That was probably the first time in the whole season that I felt that way. But Goffin also came out and played a great match.
This year, for me again, honestly, its been a great season: winning the Australian Open, getting back to World No. 1 in Rotterdam, playing a good final in Indian Wells and playing a decent grass court season…
I didnt play great in Cincinnati [the Western & Southern Open], but made the final there.
Im just really happy. Im healthy. I have won another [Grand] Slam again this year.
I always say when you win a Slam in any season, its actually a very good season already. So, I feel like there is still a lot more to play for.
