Derby boss Frank Lampard refused to be drawn into the Paul Pogba debate, joking that the midfielder would exact revenge by scoring a hat-trick at Old Trafford.
Lampard, who took over the reins at Derby in the summer, takes on former manager Jose Mourinho for the first time in one of the standout Carabao Cup third-round ties on Tuesday evening.
Much of the talk in the lead-up to the clash has surrounded Mourinhos relationship with Pogba after the Frenchman was partly at fault for Wolves equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the weekend.
A furious Mourinho gave Pogba a dressing down after the final whistle and has reportedly informed his squad that the midfielder has played his last match as United captain.

Pogba is likely to sit out the match but that didnt stop Lampard being asked about the World Cup-winners situation.
Im not going to be the one who gives Paul Pogba any advice a day before we go to Old Trafford, Lampard said.
It would be a great headline if he scores a hat-trick, so dont ask me!
Mourinho questioned Pogbas desire following the draw with Wolves and the midfielder responded by criticising Uniteds cautious tactics.
We are at home and we should play much better against Wolves, When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. Thats Old Trafford. We are here to attack, Pogba said.
I think teams are scared when they see Man United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake.
Maybe the attitude should be better and we should play better because, again, we are at Old Trafford and we should just attack and press like we did against Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal last season.
When we play like this its easier for us.

Asked why United failed to pose more of a threat versus Wolves, the France international replied: I cant tell you because Im a player – its not me.
Im not the manager, I cannot say that, but obviously we should show more option of playing, but I cannot say that because Im a player.

Thats my way of thinking – we should move better, we should move more.
