The 22-year-old midfielder had an outstanding season on loan at Crystal Palace last term and was selected in Gareth Southgates England squad for this summers World Cup.
Loftus-Cheek impressed in Russia but is now a doubt for the Three Lions upcoming Nations League clashes with Spain and Switzerland after only one substitute appearance for Chelsea so far this season.

Both Monaco and Schalke would have offered Loftus-Cheek regular minutes compared to Chelsea where the likes of Jorginho, NGolo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley block the Englishmans path to the first-team.

Earlier this summer, Loftus-Cheek slammed Chelsea for the lack of first-team opportunities handed to youngsters from the clubs academy.
Its been so difficult to go from playing every game then get to the seniors and not be given a chance, he said.
Its really difficult mentally, theres only so long you just enjoy training with top players. From a year ago, Ive improved so much from playing. A game situation is completely different.
Its hard to compare the faith of Gareth Southgate and Roy Hodgson and my lack of chances at Chelsea because its such a big club – managers are under pressure and maybe dont want to take a chance on a young player.
I dont understand whats going on behind the scenes fully, but Chelseas a massive club and I understand why chances dont come so often.

Maurizio Sarri named Kovacic among his substitutes bench over Loftus-Cheek for Chelseas victory over Arsenal and defended his decision after the win.
It depends on the position on the pitch, the Italian explained.
I prefer to have on the bench two wingers, and only one midfielder. So it depends on this and not any other situation.

I needed on the bench one goalkeeper, one full-back, one centre-back, maybe two midfielders and only one winger.
But [in training on Friday] I preferred vice versa, two wingers and one midfielder.
