Well, we would love to report heaps of fishing stories and tell you all about great catches over the last month – however the weather has not allowed many to get out.
The squid are still around in Busselton/Dunsborough and are of good size.
Crabs have also been showing up around the drain outlets in the bay with plenty of good size females and a few males thrown in.
The shore based anglers have been trying to catch the elusive Pink Snapper on the wintry, cold evenings – however not too many reports are coming back positive with it being a case of them being there one day, and gone the next.
This week was an opportunity that a few took (braving the very wintry conditions) and it was well worth it for the guys that sat it out.
Catches of good size pinkies were reported by several anglers.
The reports coming from the last good day out on the boat have also been positive.
Everyone seemed to have bagged out on Dhuies, Pinks and a few big cuttlefish were also in the mix.
A heap of crew who have headed up to the north of the state are reporting great catches off Ningaloo, Wooroora, Exmouth and The Bluff (While we can only live vicariously!).
Our staff member Steele Hawken has just headed off up north for the rest of the month to search for the BIG fish.
Steele will be targeting several species – however assures us he will catch a Marlin!
Diving has been slow in the South West as the conditions have been either too murky or the swell too high for diving.
There are a couple of guys who are still getting a crayfish or two (due to the season not closing).
