David Silva has missed Manchester Citys clash with Arsenal as he is not 100 per cent fit.
The 32-year-old played a key part of Citys Premier League title success under Pep Guardiola last season.
But the midfielder will be absent for the start of his sides title defence at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
According to El Chiringuito, Citys medical staff made the decision to rest Silva for the match on Saturday morning and the Spaniard did not travel with the rest of his teammates to London.
The report claims that Silvas injury is not severe and the midfielder could have featured, but City opted not to risk him due to their wealth of options in midfield.
