Manchester United have signed former Manchester City teenager Reece Devine on a short-term deal.
The defender joined City in 2016 but has been snapped up by United after his deal expired at the Etihad.
United academy boss Nicky Butt has overseen a huge recruitment drive since taking the role two years ago and 16-year-old Devine is expected to go straight into the clubs U18s squad.
Jose Mourinho criticised the quality of the clubs U23s squad after they were relegated last term and said he brought the likes of Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes on tour because of a lack of options immediately beneath the first team.
Uniteds academy was decaying by the end of Sir Alex Fergusons era at Old Trafford but the Red Devils have still produced the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pobga in recent years.

Mourinho handed Scott McTominay a first-team role last season and Andreas Pereira is expected to stay at the club after impressing during the clubs pre-season tour.
